Loving life at 90 ~ Rockville Maryland Family Photographer
I love my business and photography for many reasons, one in particular is seeing life in different stages. For instance, photographing a newborn baby one day and the following day photographing a wise, vibrant, beautiful 90 year old woman. For me....it doesn't get much better.
I love newborn babies and families adoring them and loving them. But it is such amazing love to watch a family together adoring their Grandmother as she turns 90. I mean how many things has she experienced and seen in her lifetime?!?! So let's take a look....when Grandma was born (1922) our country was on our way in to the Great Depression, she was also born in the midst of the US Prohibition, jumping ahead several years... then of course segregation, the Vietnam War, the introduction of technology and computers, the digital age....I mean this is what a camera looked like in 1922.......(Vintage 1920 Camera)!!
Anyhow, there is a saying "Age ain't nothin but a number" ....but I think that it is WAY more then a number, and in fact that number is so significant. There are so many things that go along with age, and it may seem a little old school but respecting your elders is one thing that I will not let my children forget. Wisdom is not built overnight, it is not something that we are all born with, wisdom is something that comes with growing older, something that we all should respect and honor.
I was able to be apart of this 90th birthday celebration because the guest of honor's granddaughter and I went to high school together. When I saw Nicole it was one of those times where you just see clips of your life buzzing by your head and for a split second I think I may have time warped back to high school. I remember her beboppin around in her cheerleading uniform with this awesome smile (that she of course still has) she has not changed much except for the 3 little minions running around her constantly. And they are SUPER cute!! She also sews, she makes little shirts and bows. You can check out her Facebook page here (Sew Stinkin Cute). Anyhow, it was a great day and I was so happy to be apart of such a special occasion.
I hope you all had a wonderful time and I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I loved taking them!!
